Tutorial: Stamped Muslin Favor Bags

I found these adorable Muslin bags at Michaels. They are from the company Celebrate It and they are 3x4 inches - 12 of these came in a package for only a few dollars.

I grabbed some Cranberry and Pink Colorbox ink, a Wedding Cake stamp and a Banner stamp. My trick with this particular craft was to remove the rubber from its block and trim it as close to the image as possible to avoid any extra ink coming off onto the muslin bags, then putting them back on the blocks (a little bit sticky, but worth it for a clean looking final product).

I carefully stamped each bag and then filled with some candy. These would look adorable on a candy bar at a wedding reception.

Tutorial: Baby Onesie Paper Garland

This will be a simple tutorial. Simple, and adorable when finished =)

Here are my supplies:

Colorbox ink in Pink, Cyan and Marigold and these adorable, tiny clothes pins that actually work. I found them at Michaels by Lara's Crafts. Using the Baby Onesie rubber stamp.

Once I stamped them out in each color, I used some sharp scissors to cut each of them out - I didn't cut them perfectly, I left some of the white paper showing around each of them. I used some pink/white baker's twine and strung them together. Super easy and super cute... saving these for the next baby shower gift I wrap!

Tutorial: Stamping on Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is special to me... in my first Etsy shop I made polymer clay charms:

So that is why I am starting this series of tutorials with one about stamping on polymer clay. Very basic supplies were used - polymer clay and a few rubber stamps on some parchment paper.

I rolled out my first color and used a little ramekin as a guide to cut out the circle.

Then I randomly stamped on the circle to get the desired effect.

I pressed the stamped clay circle into an oven safe bowl and cooked the clay according to the package directions.

Once they were cool, I put a light coat of silver paint and wiped off the excess so that the paint would stay in the grooves of the stamp impressions. Then I gave it a light coat of glaze to finish it off. Super easy and something the kids would love to help with!

Laser Engraved Stamps

Can you believe that I have carved over 16,000 stamps by hand in the last 4 years? It has been a wonderful journey and I have learned so much - about business, about people, about life.

For over a year I have been thinking about what the next steps will be for the shop. I have always wanted to make more intricate stamps and offer unlimited choices to my customers, that's what brings me to this big announcement... laser engraved stamps!

These stamps still go through the same process - I design every one of them from scratch and then they are engraved in rubber - except these are perfectly precise and without any limit on complexity. I am so excited about them and have had a wonderful response so far.

So... take a look around the shop and if there is a design you don't see, just ask and I will put together a sketch for you! So that your sketch can go from this:
